On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 17 2026 the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce hosted a magnificently attended ribbon cutting event for SamTrans and their new offices at Millbrae Station.

The weather was warm and the crowd was enthusiastic as they waited in anticipation for the 1:00 PM ceremonial festivities to begin.  In addition to Millbrae Chamber of Commerce board members and well wishers, the Millbrae Chamber was represented by former Millbrae Mayors Gina Papan and Janet Fogarty, both giving encouraging welcome speeches to the attentive group.  Following a number of speeches by SamTrans, county and Millbrae officials, along with presentations of various commendations, the attendees witnessed the ribbon cutting marking the official opening.  All then were invited to continue up to the 6th floor SamTrans offices and enjoy and spread of food and refreshments.

Thanks to all who attended and showed their support, and all who participated and put this event together.  Congratulations to SamTrans for moving to Millbrae and for many years of continued success, from Millbrae Chamber past board chair Paul Larson.

Thanks to the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce, President Jamie Monozon and Poppy Bank for an enjoyable mixer with food, drink and fun on the afternoon of May 20, 2026.  Another mixer is coming up soon, so please plan to attend.  From Past Millbrae Chamber Board Chair Paul Larson.

Congratulations to Poppy Bank’s El Camino Real at Murchison Drive location for a lively ribbon-cutting event, hosted by the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 12:00 noon.

Chamber members, city & community leaders and friends all gathered on a slightly misty afternoon to show their support and well wishes to the newest bank in Millbrae.  Chamber CEO/President Jamie Monozon greeted all who arrived, and the Poppy Bank crew prepared a wonderful charcuterie spread, cupcake table and a raffle prize basket making all the attendees feel welcome.

Orange was the theme of the day.  It was mentioned that Poppy Bank, a Santa Rosa founded organization, is named after the orange “California Poppy” flower symbolizing the state and its residents while “offering bigger bank services with small bank personal attention”.

Thanks to all who helped to put this event together, and all who attended, making it all a great success!  From Millbrae Chamber past board chair Paul Larson.
