UPDATE! PICTURES: Chamber Mixer with Skyline College Students - September 24, 2026
Updated: Sep 26
The Millbrae Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Skyline College, put together a great mixer on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The hosting venue was Bay Area Entrepreneur Center in San Bruno where students were invited to join local business professionals and city leaders to acclimatize their interpersonal communication skills while meeting those who are involved in community activities and local relations.
Millbrae Chamber CEO/President Jamie Monozon was on hand to contribute her expertise and personality to the event, along with educators and San Bruno Mayor Rico Medina who spoke on emphasizing strong hand-shakes and a confident manner.
Thanks to all who put this mixer together, participated and attended. It was educational, and the students were first-rate all the way! From Millbrae Chamber Past Board Chair Paul Larson.

Hi Everyone,
A special thank you to Paul and Bob for attending last evening's Mentoring Mixer with the Skyline College students. For those who couldn't make it, it was a fantastic event, and I hope you can join us for the next one.
Background
While discussing membership opportunities with Skyline College, I proposed the idea of a Mentoring Mixer—an event designed to help students learn networking and soft skills through in-person engagement with established business leaders.
Last night was a resounding success. The students were fully engaged, attentive, and eager to learn, while our mentors enjoyed sharing their experiences. With over 50 attendees—evenly split between students and business leaders from Millbrae, San Bruno, and South San Francisco—the energy in the room was exceptional.
We were honored to host Dr. Nate Carter, President of Skyline College, and San Bruno Mayor Rico E. Medina. Both delivered inspiring remarks and expressed strong support for the event's turnout and concept.
Many of the students, including several Millbrae residents, expressed interest in interning with the Chamber or local businesses. In fact, I have already received outreach from one student this morning.
Due to the success of the event, Skyline College would like to partner with us to host this mixer once a semester, starting with our next event in April 2027. I hope you can be there.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Best regards,
Jamie
